98.4 Like many Janome sewing machines the DC2013 receives very good ratings from owners. And like most Janome sewing machines it is not cheap, at close to $500. The DC2013 is intuitive and easy to use but also has many features including 50 stitches selectable via an LED panel. As a result this machine is suitable for both beginners and the experienced seamstress. It includes a hard carry case, many accessories and carries a 25 year warranty.
The DC2013 replaces last years DC2012. The machines are very similar and one would be hard pressed to find much in the way of differences (besides the color). We even notice that on the Janome website they post the DC2012 manual for both the DC2012 and the DC2013.

It is a fairly heavy machine (over 18 lbs) but this isnt really a pro or con as it depends on your requirements. Some owners like a heavy, sturdy-feeling sewing machine while others prefer a more lightweight unit that can be easily taken to classes for example. This probably isnt the easiest machine to pack up and take to class although you can do it its just a bit heavy.

It receives a lot of praise for its ease of use while still garnering comments about its many features. Weve also run into instances where folks were confused when threading the machine. However there are some solutions provided by owners on Fixya here should you wish to view them.
