95.5 It’s hard to find anything particularly negative about this sewing machine. It is a mechanical machine that is easy to setup and operate, and ratings are very good. It is also very reasonably priced. It is suitable for beginners and even those with some experience. However folks looking to do more advanced sewing projects may find it a little limiting as it doesn’t have a large number of stitches or features.

Consumer Ratings
We should point out that some of the people providing consumer ratings for this sewing machine were given a free unit for review (through Amazon’s Vine program which provides Vine members with free products that have been submitted to the program by participating vendors). We believe that sometimes these reviewers may not be entirely subjective – but that is not always the case. These “Vine” ratings are not in the majority however and there are still plenty of top notch ratings for the XR3774 from owners who purchased it.

This is a lightweight machine which makes it quite portable. As a result many owners highlight that they often take it to sewing classes. For beginners it is also easy to understand and operate. In addition, it has enough features that beginners have some room to grow with the machine.

One of the most common comments related to the XR3774 is that the instructions provided are clear and well-written. Also many folks indicate that the included DVD is very useful.

Owners also report that the machine runs smoothly, is fairly quiet, is dependable, and that it has few tension problems. However there are a number of comments that the built-in needle threader is a little tricky at first but folks get used to it after a while.

The machine will sew in reverse but it does not have the ability to drop the feed dogs and it does not have a needle down option. It is both UL and CSA listed and it has the following dimensions in inches: 12 x 5.8 x 15.3.
