90.7 The Brother XR9500PRW Limited Edition Project Runway Sewing Machine can manage simple projects as well as complicated projects, and despite having a wide range of features many owners report that it is very easy to use and setup. It is also lightweight, capable of sewing through thick fabric, and includes many stitch options. There are few complaints regarding this machine but some consumers report struggling with setting the thread tension and figuring out the needle threader.
We have previously looked at two other Project Runway machines the PC-210 and the PC-420. The PC-210 received a score of 90.2 from consumers which is about the same as the XR9500PRW, however at $300+ the PC-210 is a fair bit more expensive. Of course with the increased costs come some additional features and capabilities. The PC-420 is the big-daddy of the Project Runway sewing machines and it usually costs in the neighbourhood of $400+ dollars. Ratings for the PC-420 are top-notch and our consumer score for this machine is 96.1.

Owners frequently comment on how easy this machine is to get up and running. It comes with an instruction DVD and the manual is also well thought out and easy to work with. As a result quite a few folks feel that the XR9500PRW is suitable for both the beginner and the more experienced sewer.
The included extension table gets the nod of approval from owners who like to use the machine for quilting. The XR9500PRW is also quite lightweight and at less than 10 lbs and it can easily be packed up and taken to classes.
The needle threader seems to take some getting used-to and a number of consumers report having a difficult time getting it to work at least at first. In time, even those who have struggled with threading the machine have indicated that once they figure it out, it becomes fairly easy.
Other owner comments reveal that, unlike many sewing machines, this one has an effective light that illuminates the sewing area, and also that the monogramming feature is easy to use. However there are some reports that the monogrammed letters only look average and not like those produced by an expensive embroidery machine for example.
